AbleCommerce Shopping Cart Software

We recently signed up for Avalara AvaTax service.
When we try to setup in AbleCommerce and click test we received the following error:


AvaTax threw an exception while sending ping: An error occurred when verifying security for the message.
Exception: An error occurred when verifying security for the message.


Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Hi there and Happy New Year!

The error isn't something that I recognize. Very little comes up when searching. Can you double check to make sure the Account Number, License Key, and configuration settings are all correct?

Thank you. I will follow up with Avalara

After speaking with Avalara, they are telling me that the error is caused by missing data in the soap header coming from AbleCommerce.
Since that DLL is closed, I can't look into it to see why the data isn't being sent.

they said: " Able Commerce Gold software is not sending the ____ (tax code, exemption number, customer code, item code, address) that you expected"

They emailed you as well with details. Maybe that can help track down the issue.

I am quite sure that AvaTax works, so there must be more to this error. What version/build of AbleCommerce are you using?

We are using AbleCommerce GoldR10SR1 (build 8620)

What do you have entered for your Tax Service URL?

It's my best guess that this is something outside of AbleCommerce. The error has never come up before, and I am certain the integration is solid.

I will try to get you an update by someone more technical than me.

I assume there is something going on as well, since certainly other customers use the integration.

But since it is all closed, I can't easily tell what is being sent. I can only go by what Avalara is reporting and they looked at it with me and said setup looked correct.

I appreciate you escalating it to higher technical support.
