Braintree

Hi, I’m not clear about what Braintree does. If I use it do I still use authorize.net for payment processing and Global Pay as my acquiring bank or does Braintree replace those other services. Does it replace PayPal too, do I remove that payment processor after installing Braintree?

So many questions! Thanks much!

Barbara

Hi Barbara,

Braintree is a PayPal company. This payment gateway is a replacement for the old PayPal IPN, and it can also replace Authorize.net as a full payment solution with credit cards. If you are thinking about switching, it might be a good idea to talk with a rep at PayPal first. You will need to setup a Paypal merchant account that deposits to your bank and can accept credit cards. I think they charge a small monthly fee in addition to the std. cc discounts. Authorize.net has a lot of fees.

Hope this helps
