Store Down due to not able to process credit cards

Post by egormsen » Fri Mar 02, 2018 3:56 am

We had a problem today with credit cards being accepted due to getting this error:
There was a problem processing your payment: The request was aborted: Could not create SSL/TLS secure channel.

I found the article on the forms that showed how to resolved this
http://help.ablecommerce.com/index.htm# ... LS_1.2.htm

I followed the step on this this article and i have verified that the TLS setting are correct, but running the test on https://www.ssllabs.com/ssltest/
The results can be view here - https://www.ssllabs.com/ssltest/analyze ... ghdown.com

Then since we we are on R12 with SR1 I changed the web.config as described (i used 4.7 since that is the .net version that we have installed).

But now now we are getting this error when someone is trying to process a credit card.

There was a problem processing your payment: The element 'createCustomerProfileTransactionRequest' in namespace 'AnetApi/xml/v1/schema/AnetApiSchema.xsd' has invalid child element 'transaction' in namespace 'AnetApi/xml/v1/schema/AnetApiSchema.xsd'. List of possible elements expected: 'merchantAuthentication' in namespace 'AnetApi/xml/v1/schema/AnetApiSchema.xsd'.

Any other suggestions on that needs to be done! Obviouly this is big problem since we can not accept credit cards

Thank you,

The TLS changes that we documented have been working successfully for everyone that I know of.

This is an error that doesn't seem related to TLS. It's like the gateway lost it's settings possibly?

Thanks

Sorry for not responding earlier. Yes all the gateway information was lost, both for shipping and payment providers.

This had happened in the past when OS updates where applies and after reboots, but it was always the shipping info, we never lost payment gateway setttings.

We pretty much have to plan on reentering that info whenever we do our scheduled maintenance on the server. Guess I will add the payment gateway settings to the checklist.

Hi Eldon,

You can fix this issue by setting a machine key for the website. This FAQ provides some instructions on how to do that easily.

This will prevent the gateway information from ever being lost again.

Hope this helps.

Looks like Katie forgot to put in the link, I think this is the FAQ she is referring to:
