Options - Colors etc showing up in Drop Down

Hi,

Is there a way to configure the Dashboard ( or the code ) so that a default color choice shows up on the product page without the customer needing to select one.

I see that we can control the order of the options - which one is first, second and third ... but can we make the FIRST option be a Default Choice. It is clunky to not have something show up and to require and error message.

I remember reading a month or so ago that this was fixed in beta 2 ??

Could be any option - color, size, power ( for lens ) and even choice of map.

I think it's supposed to be fixed in the next release. I'm waiting also.
