Hello. I was wondering if I could get some information...
Recently, I created a Product Template called "Products with Directions". In this template, I made a couple of additional product fields that I needed, such as "Directions", "Dosage", "Manufacturer Info", and "Ingredients". This, I figured, would be the easiest way to add information that I needed to each product, since I was already using the Description and Summary fields. Now, the problem I am having is this... In several spots on AC, all of my custom fields show up. For instance, on the reciept, in the admin order section. Is this supposed to happen, and if so, why? Is there an easy way to turn off custom fields from appearing anywhere but where I explicitly call for them? My additional fields are quite lengthy, and really make things look weird when they show up.
Thanks for the help,
Scott

Re: Product Templates
...if this helps at all, I've noticed that this is occurring, because for some reason all of my custom fields are also being added to the OrderItemInputs table. Does this make any sense?? This is going to be so hard to change, considering the large ammount of places that are affected by this. Would there maybe be some easy way to comment out the part of the order creation that writes to this table?
Thanks for the help.

Re: Product Templates
You might try using product custom fields instead of product template fields. They aren't available from the admin interface, but they can show up with the products. I think Joe has a control that does that.

Re: Product Templates
Thanks, Judy. I just moved everything from templates to custom fields, and created an interface in the admin. Not as easy as setting up the template was, but, not so bad.
Thanks again.
