I need reassurance that I understand how to apply free shipping with purchases of $50 and more.
1) go to configure, shipping then mehods
2) add custom rate with fixed rate type
3) apply $0 for shipping rate
4) apply $0 for handling fee
5) enter $50 for minimum purchase

Has anyone setup their store to offer free shipping for purchases over $50? Are the instructions correct below?

Yes, that is the way to do it except that you need to select zones, warehouses, groups.
