Google translate and AC 7

Post by meer2005 » Wed Apr 22, 2009 1:07 pm

Has anyone used google translate successfully on an AC 7 site? I've never been beyond a product page with google translate or babelfish. When you try to add an item to the basket, it just stays to the white processing page and stays there. I have a lot of foreign customers /potential customers who aren't able to get past a product page and complete the checkout process when using these translation services. Any ideas?

Are you passing your website page URL to Google translations services?

I was using this: http://translate.google.com/translate_t?hl=en#

I've tried it on a number of AC 7 sites with the same result.

I don't believe you can translate secured pages.

One possible solution could be to use Google translator services via manually sending text and then capturing the translated response and show it to clients.
