Adding kit component disables purchase -Kills our top seller
Adding kit component disables purchase -Kills our top seller
Hi everyone,
We have a fire to resolve. One of our top selling items is a piece of hardware (bridge) that comes with your choice of nut. The nut is free and the customer needs to select the proper size. So... a kit. This was working fine last week prior to our 7.0.3 upgrade. One of our staff noticed sales had dropped and noticed the problem.
All of the items are acting like they are disabled, yet the product is not disabled. I've recreated the issue on our development site. Adding a kit component immediately disables the product. We are not tracking inventory, so I don't see how that could be blocking purchase of the item. The nuts themselves are available for purchase.
Everything I can see says this should be working fine.
Bridges: http://www.warmoth.com/Original-Floyd-Rose-C693.aspx
Nuts (included with bridge): http://www.warmoth.com/Schaller-Floyd-L ... -C839.aspx
Any suggestions here? We need to get this fixed ASAP.
EDIT: I've also tested adding an option instead and this also kills the product for purchase. This is affecting ANY product sold as a kit or having options.

Seems to work fine for me..
Re: Adding kit component disables purchase -Kills our top seller
OK. Thanks.
Any suggestions as to what to check? These items worked fine prior to the 7.0.3 upgrade. As mentioned, they're one of our top selling products.
- Inventory management is turned off.
- The kit component is selected via a drop down menu and are zero extra cost.
- Deleting the kit component immediately renders the item sellable.
- Customers can buy the component separately with no problems.

What I meant was I can add the kit to my cart via your site just fine.
Re: Adding kit component disables purchase -Kills our top seller
We finally identified custom code that was put in place for disabled items to be the culprit. Sales are trending back up. (We cannot say with 100% certainty that this was the cause of lost sales, but it wouldn't take much of a leap in logic.)
Someone correct me if I am wrong, but our kitted parts now show 'More Details' instead of 'Add to Order'.

I could swear AC 7.0.0 said 'Add to Order' and clicking on it sent the customer to the item details to select any options. Am I confused?
