How to batch update Product Template data

Post by bigbangtech » Fri Sep 04, 2009 8:38 am

Is there any way to *easily* dump all product's Product Template data into a flat file?

It would be very helpful to allow data entry on 1000's of items quickly.

And then of course re-upload all of that information back to 7.x ?

I see that Dataport can up/download product variants, but not the PT data, will it be considered being added in the future?

DataPort XML import can import product template data, you can make use of that.

Does XML Import create new fields if they don't already exist in the Product Template?

Is there tutorial or some help on getting product specifications for Product Template fields from a flat excel properly formatted into an XML file for upload?

During import process DataPort will import product templates and can create extra fields within product template defined in XML file. You can read more about DataPort from here http://wiki.ablecommerce.com/index.php/ ... rt_Utility
