How to set up able for development

Hi,
What is the best way to set up Able for Development?

The way I would normally set up a Application:

Developers work on the local PC with files checked out of SVN. After they are happy with the build they deploy to the DEV server for testing.

Would you have one main VS solution and have all the projects in this?

Or would you have one solution for the source code and a separate solution for the Website files?

Yes,

I would also like to know some best practices her as well. We are just working locally and then loading changes to the DEV machine for testing as well. We use multiple copies of Able. Able1, Able2 ...AbleX locally and load to the DEV server with different IP's.

But I would like to know any better ideas here.
