FedEx and Saturday Orders

We are having a problem with FedEx orders that are placed on Saturdays. Users are being charged a much higher rate for shipping on orders places on Saturday. We talked with FedEx and they said that the problem is that AC is assuming that FedEx is doing Saturday pickup, which is charged at a higher rate. We do not process orders on weekends and therefore need to be able charge shipping based upon a normal Monday pickup. I looked for sometype of setting that would allow me to change this but did not find anything.

Certainly others must also have this situation. Did I miss something in the setup or is there another way to resolve this?

Related, but a bit more troubling of an issue is when we contact FedEx they told us that as of May 2012 AbleCommerce will not be a supported shopping cart. Anyone else heard that or know anything?

The original FedEx integration uses an API that they are discontinuing. There is a patch available as a workaround that will allow functionality to be maintained using their new API although it is not "official". We are currently going through the FedEx certified solution provider process to be official again.

Did anyone report this as a bug yet, concerning rate being calculated higher when a customer orders on Saturday??

I a few weeks ago, they marked it as unable to reproduce. Maybe you should also so they see others are also having the problem.

The Saturday bug is confirmed and valid. I am aware of it and corrected it in our source. It is going to be mandatory that we release some kind of FedEx update well prior to 5/30 so the fix should be available to you soon.
