Imported Products need to be individually saved..

Post by VoShay » Wed Aug 12, 2009 11:59 am

When importing with Dataport to my 7.0.3 store, The storefront gives 404 errors when trying to view the product pages until I go to the product in the backend and hit save it. I change nothing, I just save it, and suddenly it's there. As we have about 10k products to upload, this would be.. tedious to do. How do I get around it?

Also, how would I add new pages along the horizonital bar wher home, product finder, etc. is.

Thank you for your time whoever does assist me.

Regarding 404 problem, it seems that may be the display page which is set for products being imported is not available on your store possibly you renamed or removed it. That's why you are getting 404 when trying to view product after import. When you re-save product it resets it to default.

Regarding second question read following thread

I found my problem. Dataport is Case Sensitive and Open Office had made several entries lowercase. That fixed the problem. Thanks for the assist Mahzer. If I wanted it to be another asp.net page, how would I go about it, as oppose to a external website?
