2 Shipping Charges?

Post by igavemybest » Mon Dec 14, 2009 8:02 pm

When I have shipments coming fomr two vendors (ie, two different warehouses), during checkout you have to shoose two different shipping options. It should be just one fee, one option. How do I change this?

I'm not sure this behavior can be overridden. Multiple warehouses have different physical addresses, therefore multiple shipping efforts would be involved and thus multiple charges would be required.

I do understand that, but my feeling is that the customer side doesn't need to reflect the admin side. and it should be combined into one drop-down as a total price like any other normal checkout process.

I don't know. If a customer sees a single order with $ 31 in shipping they're gonna split pretty quick. I like that it shows them WHY it's $ 31 instead of just scaring them away with a single large amount.

Yeah, that does make a lot of sense. I guess I am on the other end of that, because we charge a flat fee % of the order amount with free shipping afte $250 so it never gets too high.

My software works with serveral e-commerce platforms. Most do not display the charges by shipment to the customer. In keeping with "people want what they can't have", those merchants ask for the charges to be displayed separately.
