kitting with no options all items hidden.

If you make a kit like this for example

Pencil (parent/kit name)
-- lead
-- wood
-- eraser

In order for the pencil to show as having a price and not 0.00 you must set the price of the pencil to equal what the child items would sell for.

So my question is how will this work when quickbooks in integrated?

is it going to transfer only the kit child components (this is the way I would want it to work) But if it does it this way how will it know what to put for the price of each item?

On all of my kits/bundle the parent item is not an item. I am just using that field to name the group etc.. So this item should not be transfered to quickbooks OR only this item should be transfered and I could have kits setup in quickbooks (I would prefer the first way)

Now in the example above I could use the child product prices to set the parent price but only if the category view pages would display the total price. I would think it should be setup to display the minimum price for the kit anyways (which would solve most of the issues I just brought up)

I really just dont want to find out how quickbooks integration is going to work 6 months from now when I have hundreds of invoices to transfer and end up having to edit each one.

From the looks of the database and the order confirmation page, those kit items are going to come thru as 0 even when the main product has a price. My test kit product has a price and the kit items have prices, but they all get rolled into the price of the main product when the order is placed.
It did the same thing in Able 5.5, but each kit product price had their separate price in the KitNames field in the database, which wasn't optimal either. Like Black 9/12 oz (+$5.95). So it doesn't look like the price of each kit product is going to export to QB since it's not stored any where in the database. I'm going to check the AC7 Dev forum on this and see if maybe they haven't implemented kit price storage in order item table.

Can someone from Able chime in on this please. I am willing to wait for quickbooks to be integrated but really hate to have to edit every entry by hand because I didnt set things up correctly.

Hello Tim,

We really can't say at this point. We haven't worked on quickbooks in a couple of years, so I cannot say how it's going to work in the future edition.

However in the previous edition it would bring over the master kitted item as well as the sub items.
Thanks for your support
