Remove sort feature on category page

Remove sort feature on category page

Is there a simple way to remove the sort feature on the category page? I do not want the drop down option to appear at this time.

I have attempted to modify some code in:
ConLib/CategoryGridPage.ascx

However, this has some unexpected results. Can anyone assist me?
