Selling Window Coverings

I am looking for an e-commerce package that can handle selling window covers (blinds, shutters, etc..)

The gotcha is that these products have a bunch of different related options that drive the final price. For example, If the mount type is inside, the return can only be a certain value and so on and so.

I understand that I probably wont find a product that will handle this out of the box and I am willing to do some modifications to make it happen.

Finally to my question:

Do you think that it is possible to to make these modifications with the basic Able Commerce package or do you think I would need the full source? I know this is a hard question to answer because of my light description of what I am trying to do.

I guess I'm hoping that there are others that have already tackled this and they can comment on the amount of modifications required.

You are correct - it's nearly impossible to answer your question without significantly more detail than you've given.

I would suggest spending several hours with the online docs and the demo of AC7.

The best person to make this decision is you, not us. We won't be ones who have to live with the result. I can tell from my own personal experience that source code is rarely required. I've written a complete web service interface to Quickbooks, many user controls and entirely new product display pages...all without full source code.

Are there things I could have done better with the source? Sure. Are there about a million ways to shoot my own foot off if I had the source code? You betcha
