I want to add "softwares" as one of the categories on my website and I want to just divert the clicks(visitors) on this category to my affiliate account created with http://www.cj.com

Is this sort of arrangement possible on AbleCommerce 7? If yes, how do i do it?

Using the built-in category control that creates the home page menu, this is not possible.

You'll have to modify the user control or create your own menu structure to hard-code the link to your affiliate.

Alternatively you can edit the Left side bar scriptlet and add your new link there.... Which is much easier(editing html) then editing an aspx control...
