FMy pictures that I upload into AbleC are not clear. Any suggestions?
Mike,
Image resizing is a tough business to get right every time. I've had several images that didn't come out too well and thousands that came out just fine.
A good deal of the issue comes from the original image size. If your original image size is 1000 x 1000 pixels, resizing it to 250x250 is going to cost alot of detail. The resizing module in AC7 does an ok job most of the time.
I was fortunate that most of my product images were 350x350, so going to my site standard of 250x250 didn't lose hardly anything in clarity. For the images I had that were not close to AC7 size, I bought a little $25 program that resizes images in bulk - one click and *whoosh* I had thousands of resized images exactly the way I needed them.
Hope that helps answer you question.

We can investigate the clarity issue, I know there are reports of certain images that don't work well. However we are limited by the tools available from within the .NET framework.
Image resizing is (IMO) best left to a dedicated graphics application if you need more control over the end result. We did put effort into our image resize so that the image produced is the best possible with the tools we had. For example, I added some code to build custom palletes when images are saved to GIF to minimize color loss. That isn't a standard .NET feature, but in our tests it was certain that the saving to .GIF was useless without it.

Here is the problem I have. My live website has an item setup on it and i have an Auto- sizing probram. One of the items on this site is sharp and clear. Then I am devloping a new site (Site B), it has not been launched yet. This item that I have on Site A is a fairly good Picture. JPG. 400 X 400. I have saved this picture to a file on my computer, when this picture is set up in Able7 the picture is not sharp it is fuzzy. It is the same picture i used in site A so i do not know what the problem could be.
