Order status trigger not firing the email, help needed

I'm not sure how this should be configured, but here is what I've done...

I needed an order status that indicated to the admin that the product has been ordered from the distributor. I wanted the customer to be sent a notification when their order status changed from Unshipped to Warehouse. The goal being once the distributor ships the product, I change the order status from Warehouse to Shipped and (hopefully) I'm done with that order.

I created an email template and set it's trigger to Order Status Updated.

I created a new order status with a name of "Ordered" and display name of "At Warehouse". I checked Include in Reports, set inventory to Destock and checked the Order Status Updated trigger. Then I selected the email template I had created.

When I change an order status to the new status I created, no emails are sent.

Suggestions?

Any response from Able on this one?

I really need the ability to fire emails based on an order status change.

Customers should know when the status of their order has changed.
