Orders Problem or is it a Login Problem(Yes, Still in RC2)

Post by jtcoburn » Tue Jan 15, 2008 5:55 am

I didn't bring this up before RC2 because 1) I was hoping maybe they caught it and it was part of the release and if not 2) I didn't want to add anything more to the plate of the over stuffed.

We've noticed issues with orders from the initial install of RC1. The majority of our orders are for digital goods and a good portion of them are for a quarterly free unit. We get a lot, 3-5 a day, of orders that end up going through without the UserID attached to the order.

How do we know? Usually the customer calls in and says that they can't see the digital goods in their account. If we check the order number, it keeps all of the payment information for the account correctly, but when you go to view the customer profile, it doesn't link.

Its not so bad that it happens, the bad part is the only fix is to go through the database to find the order and insert the correct UserID (sometimes it is still NULL and sometimes it is an Anonymous UserID). I would love a way to have that all done through the Admin Interface?

Any help guys?

Originally, just Linkpoint.

We added PayPal after updating to RC2, and have experienced other issues with that as well, but I think just Linkpoint right now.

Hello,

Is this SQL 2000 or 2005? Is there anything else you might be able to add? Typically issues such as these would be reported by more than one person and we've not seen anything like this in our testing. Pretty strange.

Really, any more detail you can provide will help us track it down. I think I'd rather discover why this problem is occuring for you over providing you an admin UI bandaid.

So are the orders that are a problem - are they only for the quarterly free unit?

Do the orders all have a $0 total? If so, why are they including payment information?

Is there anything in common about the orders?

These checkouts are being done with the one page checkout process, right? (If it is the older multiple page checkout I will need to know so I look at the right code.)
Cheers,
Logan

Logan,

No, many digital products have been affected.

Nope, some have 0 totals and some don't.

Not that I've found yet...I'll try to go back and check for something I may have missed.

They are using the one page checkout.

Thanks.
