Remove and change categories

I can't see how to remove categories from a product. Through the admin page it looks like you have to move them or change them one at a time. It would be good if you could view all products assigned to a category and add or remove them as desired. I tried using the dataport utility to upload a csv file with new categories, but it looks like all you can do is add categories, not remove or change.

Not very graceful, but I was able to remove products from a category by deleting the category. I was actually able to delete all the categories. When I did this it also seems to have deleted all the products that were assigned to these categories. Probably not ideal.

On Edit Product page you will see in the left navigation 'Categories' menu. Click on it and on the next page select/unselect the categories you want a product to be in/not in.

You might not have deleted the products by deleting the category. Do a search for Orphaned Items under Catalog in the Admin.
