Storing email text

Post by WylieE » Wed Mar 26, 2008 12:59 pm

Hello everyone,

First time poster here. We are currently looking at AbleCommerce as a replacement for our current eStore.

I see 7.0 has a nice array of email options. Does AC store the contents of the email after it has been sent? What if a 'standard' email form has been altered by the sales staff/order admin? There are times our sales staff must contact a customer for additional information. It would be great if we could tie that correspondance to their order.

Thanks,
Eric.

History and Notes

Eric,

No not that I've found. What AC does do is allow you to create a note. When you create a note on an order you have the option of having this note emailed to the customer or it can remain a private note. All notes are stored under History and Notes on the Order Admin section.

You are not the first to ask. I envision that on the form where you are sending the message, we could have a checkbox to save the message to order history. Then you would find it in the "history and notes" area. This was registered as bug 5974 some time ago, I have reclassified it so we can take up the issue for our next release.
Cheers,
Logan
