Setting up to test AC7 on W2k8 DC Edition

Post by Mark Harris » Sat Mar 29, 2008 2:35 pm

I'm looking at purchasing AbleCommerce, but figured i'd try the demo first.

I attempted to get AC7 to work on one of our windows 2k3 Enterprise web servers which has an "interesting" setup for asp.net and SQL, and wasnt able to get it working. So i ordered a new quad core Server 2008 DataCentre edition server to run it on. That server is now up and running - installing AC7's prerequisites at the moment.

Is there anything to be aware of with running this an IIS7?

Anything to be aware of when running this on 2008?

Getting a nice error:
AbleCommerceHttpModule does not appear to be configured.
Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.

Exception Details: CommerceBuilder.Configuration.ConfigurationException: AbleCommerceHttpModule does not appear to be configured.

Once the last step of the installer is done. Any ideas?

Looks like on IIS7, Able commerce needs to run within the Classic .Net AppPool, not the new DefaultAppPool which uses the Integrated pipelining.
