Quickbooks and Data Client 11
Quickbooks and Data Client 11
Ok I have done exactly nada with data client in a long time.
Now I'm in the process of getting my accounting backend streamlined and have the latest data client installed. It has an Orders export option for Quickbooks, but the file format it creates appears to be XML.
What import option do I choose in Quickbooks to read in that file from data client? All I'm seeing is some IIF format, a Web Connect format and an Excel format.
Is anyone importing AC7 orders into Quickbooks yet?

I think Quickbooks format is IIF-- but it's been a long time since I looked at it.

Re: Quickbooks and Data Client 11
Hello All,
We've not started working on the Quickbooks utility as of yet. It's a big project in it's own right and we've not yet established which versions or even a feature set yet. We were considering using T-Hub but we are not sure that it's worth th $600.00. It would make the integration go quickly, but everyone that wanted the integration would have to pay the fee.

I'd pay it, unless someone else has any ideas for importing the orders into Quickbooks. What choice do I have? The potential for error and lost productivity with having to double-enter everything pales in comparision to a few hundred bucks.
If it's not even written yet, get the menu option off the data client or at the very least grey it out as unselectable - that's very misleading.

Re: Quickbooks and Data Client 11
Hello Joe,
I'll have to play with the dataclient some more. If you do an export with the dataclient and the xml headers read 'QBXML' then that is the export format for qb. I didn't even realize it was in the dataclient, it's been a while since I've had a change to play with it.

Re: Quickbooks and Data Client 11
Just FYI:
The current implementation of QuickBooks export in DataPort is exactly the same as it used to be in AC5x.

I wouldnt pay for it considering it was listed as a feature of AC7 when I bought it. I did have to buy and used T-hub for my last cart but it wasnt anywhere near $600 more like $150.

Hello,
Quickbooks has not been listed as a feature of 7.0 anywhere on our website or features list. A basic version of QB export was included with 5.5 and a basic version will be available for 7.0. Bi-directional Quickbooks support will come later for a fee with 7.0.

Re: Quickbooks and Data Client 11
??? I didnt say it said it would come with quickbooks but it does say it would be integrated with quickbooks.
You have the quickbooks logo at the bottom of this page.
http://www.ablecommerce.com/shopping-cart-intro.aspx
And under Feature Highlights on the same page it says "Quickbooks integration included"
Plus we where discussing T-hubs wich is a pretty basic program for importing orders out of shopping carts and into quickbooks (integration)
I am really not sure why you jumped on me there Mike

Re: Quickbooks and Data Client 11
Hello,
Oh, we missed one spot on our website where we didn't specify this is a 5.5 feature currently.
It's not listed as a feature on the 7.0 feature list and except for the spot we'd missed, we've tried to indicate it's a 5.5 feature currently. We didn't want confusion so we do try to be careful.

Re: Quickbooks and Data Client 11
I hope your not serious as I would never have looked at a cart that did not offer quickbooks inegration.
Go to your main website.
http://www.ablecommerce.com/
Now click on products
http://www.ablecommerce.com/shopping-cart-products.aspx
And then "Read more" about AC7
http://www.ablecommerce.com/shopping-cart-intro.aspx
Twice on that page it says quickbooks integration included. And now you are just going to say OOPS?? Its been that way for months.

Mike,
That is all I need and all I was expecting to come with AC7. I wasnt trying to imply anything more than this.
It will be nice to see what you come up with for full quickbooks integration as well though as I did not know that was planned.

Re: Quickbooks and Data Client 11
The file I generated last night does have the QBXML at the top.Shopping Cart Admin wrote:Hello Joe,

But nothing happens in QB when I try to import that file using the import options I can find. I'm new to QB, so maybe it's something I'm doing wrong.
Maybe I can figure out an Excel or CSV route that will suffice for now.
I had seen various references to "QB/Worldship will be included" over the past months that I (and obviously others as well) presumed it would be a part of 7.0 final release. Seeing both QB and Worldship options in the data client further reinforced my presumption.
