Shipping Calculator

Post by Psalty » Mon Apr 28, 2008 1:41 pm

Hello,

I am testing out the shipping calculator on a demo store. I have configured UPS and have notcied that the rates that are calculated (ground, next day, 2nd day, etc..) do not change based on changing the weight of the product but do change when the ZIP is changed.

Is this normal behavior? I would hope that a 1 pound box would have a different rate than a 40 pound box.

Thanks

Never mind, it looks like the weight is cached in the basket when the item is added. If you delete the item from the cart and add it again the updated weight is then applied to the calculation.

Wow, dimensional weight is actually factored into the calculation. This is the first shopping cart I have seen do this. Kudos!

It seems to work well for international too except I noticed there is no option to add UPS Worldwide Saver. Is this in the development que?

Thanks

I just noticed that UK postal codes do not work in the shipping calculator but rates are provided after the customer fills out their address in checkout. Is this something that is being worked on?
