Coupons

Post by jmwco » Wed Apr 16, 2008 12:57 pm

To Whom It May Concern:
We are currently looking to purchase a ASP.NET based shopping cart package. We need the package to allow us to do the following things:

1) Create a coupon for free shipping only for specific products (e.g. on cameras but not DVRs).

2) Create a coupon for free shipping on purchases of $1,000 or more.

3) Create a coupon for a free upgrade to 250GB HD when purchasing a 160GB DVR.

4) Tax at the county level.

I was told by your sales staff that the first one can be accomplished by modifying the code. If this is the case, how hard would that be and would we have to modify the API code?

Can items 2 - 3 be accomplished by modifying the code? If so, how much does it entail?

Can the final one be accomplished by modifying the code as well?

Thanks in advance,
J. Smith

Hi,

I do this one now, and didn't have to write any code.
2) Create a coupon for free shipping on purchases of $1,000 or more.
It was done via the admin page by going to Maketing and then selecting Coupons. On the Coupons input page there is a textbox where you can enter your Minimum Purchase. So you can put in 1000 there.

I dont know why you are being told that you would need to modify the code. I am an Able user and all of the things you want to do are easily done with no mods what so ever.

Doug, how did you implement the tax at the county level? We are in Ohio also.

How can free shipping on a specific prouct or category be accomplished? This option does not seem to be available in the demo site I am using. When I edit a coupon, there is no product rule option. Is this something that could modified easily?

Thanks

I don't think you can do free shipping on a per product basis. I can't find it.

You are correct. This is a huge missing feature. The software I plan on leaving lacks this - and I figured we were the only people using software that didn't have that feature.
