Orders with no shipping address or method

I'm having a recurring problem with orders that I can't recreate. Every so often we receive an order that is marked paid full and shipment pending, but the order has no shipping address and no shipping method chosen or charged for. It is basically an order that somehow received free shipping!
Needless to say this is bad, it is happening more often now and we have to do soemthing about it. There are no similarities in the orders at all. Had this happen to me on an order I placed myself and I didn't notice anything strange I think it actually showed my shipping method on the checkout page and then once the order was placed it didn't add it to the order, or total. Well that link is from a ver 5.5 post so I doubt it relates.

I as well as a few others have reported getting orders like this. For me it was just with one customer and happened a few times. There is a post about it someplace on here. You should report this as a bug since you are having it happen a lot you might be able to help them track down the source of the problem.

My latest issue was having a order come through WITH a shipping method attached but not charge for the shipping. This is the bug for that one. http://bugs.ablecommerce.com/show_bug.cgi?id=6993

We have detected the actual reason for this rarely occurring bug and a patch is on its way.

PAtch out for this bug. We have completed 150 orders since I applied the patch Friday afternoon and so far no shipping addresses or methods have been missing! Great, so far so good...
