Updating to SR1a, received error.....

Hello,

I have ablecommerce 7.0 and final patch (global and web files). I tried to update my site to SR1 and I received the error below. I reinstalled my backed up files and then downloaded/installed SR1a and also received the same error. I reinstalled the backed up files again and everything is working fine.

Am I missing an update?

This is strange kind of error.
Can you make sure that you clear the temporary files from C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\V2.0.50727\Temporary ASP.NET Files\root after the upgrade and restart IIS? It may not be possible if you are on a shared hosting environment... but I guess there must be some equivalent action.

We're getting a very similar error. Our ISP is doing a clean install of build 9879 for us. The initial install went just fine. After applying SR1a we're getting the following error:

Hello,

I have ablecommerce 7.0 and final patch (global and web files). I tried to update my site to SR1 and I received the error below. I reinstalled my backed up files and then downloaded/installed SR1a and also received the same error. I reinstalled the backed up files again and everything is working fine.

Am I missing an update?

It sound like something wrong at the .NET Part. Read the following

According to the above link its something related to the .NET Framework 1.0 and 1.1.
Also i have read a post which describes that the author was able to fix it by setting the Identity for Application Pool to use the Local System account instead of Network Service.

I have left that message for my hosting company, I am assuming it is on their servers, the only thing i did was move the the folders in SR1a into my directory.

However, this started after I installed the folders for the SR1a. I just realized the error came back again even after moving the original folders back into the directory.

Some Admin drop down links work and some other ones I receive the error.

Sometimes is goes away.....sometimes it doesnt....

Yes it seems that it is something on the hosting company part. Please keep us updated here on the forums with the progress so that this discussion can help users having the same problem in future.

9/7/2008 8:15:57 AM Hi, the server that you are on is Windows 2003 SP2 installed and the web site is working now. The problem can be solved by recycling application pool or IIS reset.

Regarding compiler 128 error, it is a rare error. It would rather like a bug of IIS and Microsoft not yet provide a good solution. We are apologetic for any inconvenience.

9/7/2008 8:55:24 PM This error keeps happening in a random fashion. Some links will have the error and will go away in minutes but some will not go away. I wasnt able to access my admin section, but now I can, but some admin controls have the error now.

Is there anything that can be done, this has affected my site all day?

Is there anything I can look for within my site or ask others about?

Confirmed. When applying SR1a, several files were deleted. Not sure how, but we're on the case.
