PayPal payment not being sent to PayPal

For Payment Method in checkout for PayPal, it says:

Click below to finalize your order. From the invoice page, you can
continue on to PayPal to pay the order balance

I would rather have it go directly to PayPal from the Checkout page instead
of displaying the Reciept and having the customer click another button
to go to PayPal.
This might (will in some cases) confuse people.

Can this be changed without causing any problems?

I think you can do this job through some code modifications on checkout page.

I have been using this system for 9 months now and have never had anyone say it is confusing.

If they select mail in payment they still have to mail in the payment.

If they select pay with card they still have to click "pay with card" after entering the info

If they select pay with gift cert they still have to click the button.

I dont see how paypal is any more confusing than any of the other options..plus if they click the wrong thing on accident then woosh they are off to paypals site. Just my 2 cents

Yes, but they are then taken to a Reciept page, which makes sense.

It wouldn't matter anyway, because the order is placed and they have to use paypal
anyway, .. they can't change their payment option on the Reciept page.

I think I would rather have them go right to PayPal instead of going to the Reciept page,
but I would put a confirmation message box on the button click informing them they
are about to be sent to paypal.

When I read this I didnt fully test it like you described.

Now that I went back and looked I agree with you completely.

They just saw what the total would be on the checkout page..they selected paypal..they clicked the pay with paypal button. So why go to another page and have to click the paypal button yet again?

Exactly.
And some customers are going to think the same thing
and are not going to click that button.

Remember, some people are not good at all when it comes
to using computers and get confused very easily.

I could definately see some people not clicking that paypal button again when they get to the Reciept page.

True..and its something I think needs to be fixed.

That said I have never had a customer get to that stage and not click that as far as I can tell.
