These are already fixed for the next release. Anyhow thanks for reporting
Mark Harris wrote: * Cant upload customer passwords

Yes there are these limitations when you are using CSV data import option, However you can use XML data import option to import this data.

Mark Harris wrote: cannot import what products on the order. This software is therefore pretty useless if you want to transfer data from an old store to this one.
From the old store if you mean some AC55 store, then you can import almost every thing except some configurations / settings which are not compatible between the AC55 and AC7. You can import Products data, as well as the Order data from AC55. To do this export you store data from AC55 and then use the AC55 import feature of the DataPort and let it do the work for you.
Mark Harris wrote: I'm needing to import our ~3000 customer list from another website. Any suggestions on how to do this would be excellent
From another website!!!
Best available option is still the Users CSV import. However you will not be able to import, password, addresses, DOB and Telephone, fax etc.

I agree with you that DataPort should be able to import "password, one address information including Telephone and Fax" etc. I am going to put a feature request for this, and hopefully the next release will solve this issue..

Sorry for the delay...
We have added some more features to the DataPort and QA process is taking time, We are testing it for the data provided by different customers and with aspects so that it can now be finalized. Going to release it very soon...

Although we trying to make sure to fix all bugs in DataPort. You can help us by sharing your data for a testing as well. This way we being able to find and fix any issues that you can encounter with the next release...

Hi, I'm trying to import a .csv file of new items, with all of the fields, except productId, and I'm getting this error message:

We are sorry for the inconvenience, but an error has occurred while loading CSV datafile.
Error Message: An item with the same key has already been added.

How do i overcome this?

It seems that your CSV file is not in correct format...

Can you please share your csv file. I do not require complete file but just a few records that can re-produce the issue...
You can even send me that in PM, but it is better to share it on this forum, so that others can also avoid such issues in future..

This might be too late in development to ask- does the dataport utility incorporate the admin user permissions? For example, if someone has limited permissions, will they be able to access site data outside of their permissions area?

Naveed, below is the sample file in excel 2003 format. I couldn't load a .csv file, so just open it and save as a .csv.

The file you have attached is not in CSV format... Here is how I converted it to proper CSV.

1. I opened it in Excel 2003 and then From file menu I chooses "Save as" option.
2. From the "Save as" dialog I selected the "Save as type" as "CSV (Comma delimited)(*.csv)" file type.
3. Excel showed me a warning something like "Do you want to keep the workbook in this format?" with some other details, I selected "Yes".
4. And closed the Ms Excel. It then prompts me to "Save the changes", You can select "Yes" or "No" and follow as Step # 3.

5. It will now save your file in correct CSV format and you can use that to upload using DataPort.

Here is your file in CSV format. I tried to upload it and was successful... All 4 products imported.

No, the DataPort does not care for admin user permissions.. Any type of admin user can connect using DataPort..

I have put an enhancement request to bugzilla to update the DataPort to only allow admin users of certain types to connect using DataPort.

There is a proposed enhancement to add a new role 'DataPort' particularly for the data client utility.

Yes, i know how to convert and .xls file to a .csv file, i've done this hundreds of times, (as Judy says, "Been There, Done That" ),
I was having problems uploading the .csv file to the list serve, not to our database using the dataport. this problem has only occurred recently, and i was hoping for an explanation, but I'm glad the import into your database was successful.

Also, for testing of the new dataport, if you like i can provide you with a MUCH larger file with thousands of records. I can provide this in an AC5.5 xml file.

Unfortunately I am unable to understand the problem you are facing.. Please explain in more details....

Yes.
Here you can find more about the required fields for product CSV import:

Thanks,
I hope it is a AC55 exported xml file. You can email me the file for testing..

I have two issues. First, I am trying to download data for fulfillment on Data Port. I cannot see any easy way to get order item data out per order. I saw another thread on this, but did not see any suggestions or solutions. While I was looking at this, I was trying downloads, and are repeatedly getting this error.

I am pretty sure I have the latest. I noticed that the service release updated the ClientAPIService.ashx file. Should I replace that one with the one from the Data Port release from June?

If you are able to successfully connect to your webserver using DataPort .19 then you dont need to worry about the wrong version of ClientAPIService.ashx file.

Can you export the customized orders, users, and products... Can you describe the situation in more detail in which the DataPort giving this error.. I think you are trying to download Orders using Customized Order Download feature.. If yes then what criteria you are using on first screen and in which format you are trying to download??

I just got done setting up a 7.0 store and migrating all of my 5.5 data over. Everything worked great, but my order numbers are off by quite a bit. Is this a known bug or did I do something wrong?

Thanks,

Yes, this was one of the limitations, The preserve Id feature for OrderNumbers was not implemented for DataPort version 1.0.0.19

However there is a good news for the customers who want to move their stores to AC7. The next version contains this Preserve ID feature for Order Numbers. As we are testing the DataPort with great details and there are about 30-40 bug fixes regarding AC55 data import and many new enhancements :

Preserve ID feature for Users and Orders
Gift Certificates Import.
ESD's Import.
Updated/ Fixed Kit Products Import
OrderStatus Import Fix
Categories Sort Order Fix
Catalog Items Visibility Fix
And many other bug fixes.

And thanks to Katie for a complete user manual for migrating from AC55 to AC7, with all the steps and instructions.

There are many other enhancements like:
DataPort API and Store Version Detection
User CSV import/export with password and Address information

Testing of DataPort is in final phase, and we will be releasing it very soon..

I've been loading files in the same .csv format for last 3 month using version .19. This error occasionally pops up.

Hello,

I notice it hasn't been too long since your post about the release of a new dataport utility.
I was just wondering if you have any more information since your last post?

I had a 5.5 store imported into AC 7 and my order numbers are all thrown off. I am looking to go live very soon (I am hoping perhaps a week) so now would be the time to try and get it right before I go live.

About the only thing I can do with dataport .19 is login successfully. I tried exporting one product just so I could see the format and I got an error. I tried to upload some products from 5.5 and got an error. I didn't write the error messages down because I thought I would just wait for the new release and hope that fixes everything. :)

Thank you,
Benard

Hi Mike/Logan,
Are we getting an updated Dataport utility soon? We are unable to export any products/categories out of the AC 7 store (the store is updated to latest Service Release 1 version) using this utility - we get the following error... pl. let us know when we can expect an updated version... thanks!

One thing I did was to filter by category on Step 1 to select one category...

I got a similar error the other day, but I thought something was wrong with our data. I'll try to remember/test to see what I was doing and run it again.
