Installing AC7 at DiscountASP.net

Post by Reddirt » Wed Oct 29, 2008 7:46 am

I'm trying to install AC7 at DiscountASP.net.
I'm using their Windows 2003 IIS6 service.
When I run the /install/default.aspx, I get the following error:
Configuration Error
Description: An error occurred during the processing of a configuration file required to service this request. Please review the specific error details below and modify your configuration file appropriately.
Parser Error Message: Could not load file or assembly 'WebChart' or one of its dependencies. The module was expected to contain an assembly manifest.
Source Error:
Line 104: <add verb="*" path="ProcessPayPal.ashx" type="CommerceBuilder.Payments.Providers.PayPal.IpnProcessor, CommerceBuilder.Paypal"/>
Line 105: <add verb="*" path="Captcha.ashx" type="CommerceBuilder.Web.CaptchaGenerator, CommerceBuilder.Web"/>
Line 106: <add verb="GET" path="WebChart.axd" type="WebChart.CachedImageService, WebChart"/>
Line 107: </httpHandlers>
Line 108: <httpModules>
Source File: E:\web\burtonpanor\htdocs\web.config Line: 106

Has anyone installed on DiscountASP.net successfully? If yes, how?
Thanks,
Reddirt

Make sure that WebChart.dll is in your bin folder and also the ASP.NET AJAX is installed.

I checked both of those - thanks for the tip.

The Able help desk reloaded the source files for me and it worked.
I'm wondering if the current zip for testing has something corrupted in it?
Because I downloaded it twice and ftp'd to the site.

Anyway - it was good to have the Able Help Desk fix my problem.

I got errors in the past setting up some sites-- some files from the zip just wouldn't be there but no one else was experiencing the problem. Katie at Able found out that it was my unzip program not carrying over the folder/file permissions.

I've had issues with using WS FTP when uploading a large number of files and folders.

In the case of shared hosting environments, you rarely get the opportunity to upload a single zip file and unzip it on the server. You have to unzip it locally first, and then upload all the files to your hosting environment.

With the latest WS_FTP Pro version, it would skip certain files or folders for no reason whatsoever whenever I do a large upload of many folders and files. I'm guessing lag was the culprit for the FTP client should be catching that and handling it proper.
