strange Image Issue
About 50% of the time when we upload an image it shows up on our site looking hazy. Not pixelated or distorted, just hazy. If we overwrite the uploaded image with the original full size jpg image manually it then shows up fine. Anyone have any ideas?

Re: strange Image Issue
We had a problem with that and found out it was images that had some extended file attributes, like camera, etc. It was something like that- I don't remember exactly and someone else does the images for that site- I just had to trouble shoot it.

Can you give me any further details about how this was resolved?jmestep wrote:We had a problem with that and found out it was images that had some extended file attributes, like camera, etc. It was something like that- I don't remember exactly and someone else does the images for that site- I just had to trouble shoot it.

Re: strange Image Issue
I wish I could, but I don't remember exactly. I was working with a merchant over the phone. I think he ended up using something like IrvanView to handle those files and maybe it was a matter of opening the image into some image software, then saving it without the exteneded properties. I was using batch picture resizer to try to troubleshoot for him and it wasn't happening there, so we narrowed the problem down to those extended image properties. But this is only a vague memory. Sorry I can't do better. It was my son-in-law, not a paying client, so I didn't write anything down.

Re: strange Image Issue
afm just posted this in a different topic, but it might apply to your problem also- it's about optimizing image size, but tells how to strip out metadata.
