Inventory Control Not Removing Products from store when 0

I was under the impression, that when your inventory count hit 0, the item would automatically be removed from the store and the visibility would be changed to hidden.

Is this not the case?

The store currently is not removing the products when they run out of inventory. We do not have backorders permitted and the inventory management option is checked on.

What could be the problem? Does anyone have a fix to this?

Specify an out of stock value. AbleCommerce will remove the Add To Basket button for a product that is out of stock and will show a The product is currently out of stock message on product detail page. You can change this message from store settings.
