Random products missing from catalog thumbnail page

I've been experiencing a problem with the catalog thumbnail page of my store. This is the page that is supposed to display thumbnails of all products with page number navigation at the bottom so that customers can quickly browse all products before making a selection. It is currently set up to display 8 product thumbnails per page and each of our product categories show 5 to 8 pages. The problem is that it randomly skips two to three products while duplicating others. Those two or three products are active and the visibility is set to “public” but they do not show up on the thumbnail pages. This happens with random products in all product categories. I know all of the products are in the database and they show up fine if the search box is used to find them by name...they just don't show up on the thumbnail page. Any ideas as to what the problem could be?

Which category display page you are using?

I'm not sure I understand the question...Do you want to know the name of the file that display's the thumbnail product page?

Its a custom category display page called Category GridWS2. The customizations were mainly layout, we stayed with mostly default able behavior.

Since you've customized the control, there's little help the forum can give you without seeing the source code. Something got modified that broke it - the controls as they come from AC7 do not drop products from the page.
