Help with redirects and defaults

Post by rmorris » Mon Feb 02, 2009 5:24 pm

My company, Wilwood Engineering, we are building an AC store through a third party, so, we do not have ftp or SQL access. Absolutely everything we do must be done through the admin panel. This is quite limiting. I have been tasked to solve two problems. Because of the Legacy 3rd party hosting and development arrangement we have, our hands are tied when it comes to most of the types of changes we want to make. Working with our 3rd party admins is like pulling teeth, painful and expensive. We have a plan in the works to end this arrangement and bring all development in-house, but it is still a long time off.

In the mean-time, I have been asked to tackle two problems. First. Our customers are having a terrible time trying to find the correct items on the store site. This is very problematic. We need to find a way to either redirect all incoming traffic from the store site to our html site. We do not want anyone visiting the store site until we fix it. Secondly, I am supposed to find out if there is a way to turn the AC store off? or perhaps change it to a default setting with no info?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Realy you need FTP, SQL and root assess to control your server.

You could do a redirect but again you need more access.
