Checkout Problems with Demo - Multiple Destinations

I'm testing the demo straight out of the box. I need the ability to ship to multiple destinations. So I tried the following and got some problems:

- Add two items to cart and checkout.
- Fill out Billing Address and press Continue
- Click on Multiple Destinations and have to enter username (email) and password
- Page pops up with request for Billing Address information again.

In addition,
- Popup doesn't have any way to cancel except to press Back button on browser
- After "cancelling" by pressing Back, going back to cart and pressing Checkout again doesn't show any billing information from first entering.

Has anyone else had this problem?
Do I need to configure the cart before this basic functionality works correctly?
