Sorry, trial and error is getting old.
Test Parent category has 2 subs, Sub Category #1 and #2.
The two sub-categories each have thumbs assigned on their edit pages.
Just as the user guide shows:
In the content column, I'm using 'Category Grid Page with Category Data'.
In 'Category Grid Page with Category Data', the scriptlet '[[ConLib:CategoryGridPage4]]' is in place.
The thumbs are not showing up. I'd like to see approx. what I've laid out below.
What am I missing?
Can't get sub categories thmbs to show on category page
Re: Can't get sub categories thmbs to show on category page
Working for me check screen shot, make sure that you have properly assigned thumbnail to your category. Also it may be something due any customization in control if you made any.
Re: Can't get sub categories thmbs to show on category page
I too have this working, although in a customized fashion. I started from Grid 4 but replaced the category text links in the top with category thumbnails and replaced the product grid in the bottom with a product listing more like the Category Details. See attached screen shot. (thumbnails are temporary placeholders for now)
The main issue with category and product thumbnails is you have to pick the image and also save the assignment. Intially, I kept having problems because I would pick the image and see its path in the thumbanil url field but I would forget to hit save.
If that isn't the reason, I generally look at the underlying html and see what url the image thinks it is displaying and track down the cause that way. Either a) no img tag is being rendered or b) an invalid url is specified or c) the image file is missing.
Hope that helps. -- ZLA

The original categories and products are still with us and also don't work anymore, so I know it's been busted by a human. I've got a developer doing some stuff....
