Paypal bidirectional communication

Post by Norm@Brambleberry » Wed Aug 12, 2009 5:10 pm

We are having a problem with PayPal talking to our cart. We do not use PayPal for credit cards, nor do we want it to. We just want people to transfer payment from their personal PayPal accounts to ours. There does not seem to be any bidirectional communication with this sort of setup. The big problem is customers can now place an order that AC7 thinks is paid, but never make the payment in PayPal! Help!

If you don't use Paypal Express, the customer should be shown a paypal button on the order receipt page which they can use to be directed to Paypal for payment. Then depending on your server trust level, the info might get transferred back to the site. It doesn't always work if you are on a shared server.
