Hi, I have two questions about this.
1) As I understand it, our license key is tied the domain we specified (happens to be our .com domain). If I route .net traffic to the site, what will happen? Ideally I could detect the .net request and 301 redirect it to the .com domain. My fear is that with all the licensing checking going on that it will simply display a license error page or something like that.
2) How have people handled 301 redirecting urls in bulk when moving from one e-commerce package to an able commerce site?
Thanks
301 redirects
Re: 301 redirects
Inbound traffic to the site, regardless of the domain header, will be automatically redirected to the domain name licensed by your AC7 install. So even if you can hit your site with www.foo.net, AC7 is going to instantly redirect your browser to www.foo.com since that is your original license. You can purchase a multi-domain license to accomodate your situation - contact Able sales for more information.markpuck wrote:As I understand it, our license key is tied the domain we specified (happens to be our .com domain). Not sure. Only time I've dealt with 301 redirects in IIS Manager itself. Anything more than a few URLs is a huge hassle with that interface. There are some other posts in the forums on 301 redirect processing, might do a few searches and see what you come up with.markpuck wrote:How have people handled 301 redirecting urls in bulk when moving from one e-commerce package to an able commerce site?
