Random : The remote name could not be resolved

I get these a couple times a day in my log either for contacting ups or usps or for even contacting the mail server. I know I have gotten these a few times in the past but since moving to my current host I seem to get them more often. Is there anything I can look into to figure out what is the cause?

You may have to check your server advanced firewall settings and make sure that the outbound connections to the sites shown in the exception log are not being blocked. Create a separate firewall
rule allowing outbound access for all ports to those sites and see if the exceptions will go away.

Could be a slow DNS server on the host side. Check with your hosting provider to see if they are seeing any other complaints about name resolution failing intermittently on hosted sites.
