Why are some customers getting "SpyBot Activity dectected"

Why are some customers getting "SpyBot Activity dectected"

Some customers have contacted us because they have had a message appear on screen when they try and check out that reads "SpyBot Activity dectected" what triggers this message and why are some "Real" customers seeing it?

It's on the One Page Checkout and is supposed to check for the form being submitted many times in a row too fast.
