How does AC7 handle stock of kit components?

Post by AbleMods » Tue Jul 20, 2010 8:48 am

If inventory is turned on and backorders are not allowed, how do kit components render?

Do they take inventory into account and only show the kit component items that are still in stock? Does it show the actual stock remaining of component items?

Or does the entire kit not get rendered because it cannot be fully filled?

Yes the kit items do take of care of in stock value if inventory is turned on for them. Upon kit display page it will not list those components that will be out of stock. Inventory messages will show the details about base product not the components.

A kit can consist of multiple components.

Each component can have multiple choices.

If a component choice is out of stock then it will not be listed and the kit will still be purchasable by selecting one of the choices available.

If a component is completely out of stock and there is no choice available then the whole kit would be out of stock.
