Shipping for kit items in multiple warehouses

I have a bit of a problem...
I have a kit which includes the main product, plus an additional "free" item. Now, the problem I have is that the free item ships from a different warehouse than the main kit item, but when the order is processed, both items are placed in the same shipment (doesn't work correctly for our vendors).
Any way around this behavior?

I believe there is an option called Itemized/Bundle display when defining kit components. Choose itemized and try placing an odder with required options.

Which version of AC started using this? I'm still on 7.02.

I believe its since 7.0.3. Although for my own testing I used 7.0.4 so I am not sure what was its behavior on shipments in 7.0.3.
