Orders getting created with NO shipments!!

Post by michael.p.larsen » Thu May 13, 2010 10:42 am

We are seeing orders that have NO shipment. This is happening seemingly at random. The products are fine.. set to shippable.. waehouses and shipment methods are also fine.
I've tried EVERYTHING to re-create this... and I've had NO luck. Tried checking out in every browser thinkable... with javascript enabled AND again disabled. Still couldn't recreate.

I was hoping maybe someone else out there has had this issue? If so, what did you do to resolve?

hello,
I think orders which have no shipment they must have all Items which are not shippable that is why it showing orders with no shipment.
So you need to confirm that the all Order Items(Products) are shippable on Product Details Page and make sure 'Shippable' is set to 'Yes'.
If still remains problem then give more details so that i will be able to help you out.

Thanks

I have occasionally seen order with two shipping methods charged. I've never been able to replicate or pin the problem down. My guess is that there has been a problem with an integrated gateway or something. Check the error.log in your App_Data folder if nothing shows up in the admin error log and try to tell if there were any errors around the time the order was placed.

Hi Michael,

Did you ever get resolution on the issue of orders getting created with no shipments? We have had two orders come through just as you described. Products set to shippable, warehouse assignment and shipping methods are all set up correctly. No relevant errors in the log either. We've had over 2000 orders come through with no problem, so it's very random. I've combed through the source code, tested various browser configurations - no luck.

Thanks

We had it happen on one day recently where the USPS site was down. On an Able 5 site, the customer just couldn't order if USPS were the only shipping methods. On an Able 7 site, the order went thru, but with no shipping charge.

I use to get these every now and then. I remember some code was done to keep this from happening in a patch or update, maybe that code got reverted.

I used to see that with Google Checkout a year or so ago. Would be completely random - sometimes double shipping charge line items would be on a seemingly random order. I think an upgrade to AC7 resolved it but it's been a while so I'm not sure.
