Search by Product SKU

Hello,

We're experiencing an issue after customer's purchase products and return to purchase the same product again. If they search using the SKU number from their invoice they get no results. Our products use variants (set up as sku + sku modifier) which when searched yields no results. Has anyone dealt with this problem and/or found a solution?

It's extremely frustrating for customers who wish to reorder.

Hello Albert,
One suggestion might be to have them use the reorder button. This should be on each previous order.

Hello Fred,

Thanks for the suggestion. Most of the time the return customers do not log on to the site to review previous orders. What usually takes place is when they receive the product and are able to inspect the quality they immediately go online and use the invoice that came with the order to purchase by entering the SKU from the invoice.

Searching for variant skus would have to be customized. As a work around, you could put the skus in the keywords field for the product.

BTW In recent versions of AbleCommerce you can search by SKU in merchant admin by using search box available in header.
