Credit Card payment capture for Purchase Orders on the Store

How can we enable users to pay online by Credit Card for "Purchase Order" Invoices. Often, users need to come back and want to pay the bill that they receive online for "Purchase Order" oders. The Payment status also needs to be set as "Completed".

I know that, for "Purchase Order" oders, the Administartor can Capture the payment and set the status manually. However if the user wants to pay it on the store itself, right now we do not have an option.

I'm not sure that will be possible specifically with the 'Purchase Order' payment method. Once the payment method is set, only tasks appropriate to that method can be applied.

What you could do is simply delete the "Purchase Order" payment from the order after the customer has checked out.

At that point, the visitor-side View Order page will see no payments at all for the order and display the "Pay Now" button - that button allows any customer-permitted payment methods to be used. Thus the customer could then apply a credit card payment to the order and the usual order/payment flow would then apply.
