We have been waiting for the update to wa state tax. Can someone detail what was done and how we get access to the data needed to send to the state? The state wants tax reported by location code. So we need zip+4, location, sales, tax, total. And a way to get that info out. Anyone know?

Great, I can see that. But, I'm looking for details as to what the change was, how to access it...you know. Details so we can figure out how to use it

You will be required to perform multiple step upgrade. Have a look at following topic. http://help.ablecommerce.com/upgrades/a ... _tasks.htm

After the upgrade, orders placed with WA taxes will record the location code as part of the tax line item. When you go to the sales tax report, it will show you a breakdown by location code. It only works for orders post upgrade, because prior to the upgrade we were not preserving this value in any form.robaorl wrote:Great, I can see that. Re: AbleCommerce 7.0.7 released
A couple of questions:
1. What table is that data in so we can export it and get it to the state
2. Do we need to upgrade to Commerce Builder 7.0.7 too in order to install this update?

Re: AbleCommerce 7.0.7 released
Below is information from the Tech that tried to install the 7.0.7 Upgrade and ran into a few problems.
Here is our current version:
AbleCommerce for ASP.NET
VERSION: 7.0.6.14312
MSSQL v2005
AC SCHEMA v2005
.NET CLR v2.0.50727.3053
ASP.NET TRUST: Unrestricted

"I attempted the upgrade in the past hour.
It appears that there is an issue.
When running the database upgrade script I received and error that’s attached above.
I checked the site and it appeared to be working, however I could not get into the admin section so I’m not sure what state the site was in after the error message.
I went ahead and rolled it back to 7.0.6 to get things stable again.
I also noticed on our side the process running your shopping cart during the upgrade had a huge memory spike and .net threw out an out of memory error.
I’m wondering if your database has grown too large or if there is an extra step that needs to be taken.
You may want to just forward this email along to ablecommerce and see what they have to say before I try the upgrade again.
Let me know if you need any more information.
Thanks."

Re: AbleCommerce 7.0.7 released
Your tech would need to turn CustomErrors off as in the error message below. In upgrades I have done, when I run the database upgrade script I get an error having to do with countries (don't remember the exact error, but I've reported it as a bug and Able thought it was because we might have added indexes to a table, which would make it not a bug), but after I get the error, I go to the store and store admin and the script has run OK. The error was one that was non-crucial, so the upgrade really worked after all. You might check to see if yours actually worked.

What about .net throwing out a memory error. Have you seen anything on this before?

Re: AbleCommerce 7.0.7 released
I haven't seen it on an upgrade, but I have seen it when exporting or importing (can't remember which) an Able 5 store. We have had to do that 50,000 orders at a time to get past it.

Re: AbleCommerce 7.0.7 released
Our upgrade went fine Friday. I was checking orders over the weekend from home and they were fine. I came into work this morning and the person that takes care of the website changed one address and saved it and we get an error on the shop and can't get into the back end. Any suggestions why this would happen? See error below. By the way this is the same Runtime Error we got the last time, I believe.

Re: AbleCommerce 7.0.7 released
Something else has come up after the upgrade to VERSION: 7.0.7.14481 and it is really troubling. The front side and back end are both really slow. Sometimes timing out waiting on pages to load. I've contacted our service provider for answer and got this in return.
"I’ve checked the server up and down and see no problems from that end.
The cart process is burning up something like a full gig of memory.
I believe there is something going on keeping the cart from starting properly.
I did some forum reading and someone mentioned there could be an error not caught causing it to continually fill up memory and crash.
Have you asked support for any advice?"
Can you take a look at this and advise us on anything that we can do to improve the speed of this version. We were running very fast just before this upgrade with our 7.0.6 version.
Thanks,
Scott

Re: AbleCommerce 7.0.7 released
Do we have to wait for Commerce Builer 7.0.7 to try and install the cart 7.0.7 for WA taxes
Aalso, based on the above issues, is it safe to upgrade at this time?

Re: AbleCommerce 7.0.7 released
Are these issues rare and many people have upgraded just fine or should we wait?
Re: AbleCommerce 7.0.7 released
I have not received any feedback on the errors our site is getting since we've upgraded to 7.0.7. one week from today. I've created a support case and was told not to post in both but our site has not gotten an order for 2 days and we are getting about 1,000 errors in our error log per day. All the errors look like the ones below.
4/22/2011 8:51:36 AM Error An error has occured at http://www.dcccrafts.com/shop/Product.a ... uctId=1521 Exception of type 'System.Web.HttpUnhandledException' was thrown.; Exception of type 'System.OutOfMemoryException' was thrown.
and occasionally
4/22/2011 4:08:10 AM Error An error has occured at http://www.dcccrafts.com/shop/Product.a ... uctId=2461 Request timed out.
Our host has no suggestions and it was running perfectly before the upgrade. This is really starting to get frustrating!!!

When will Commerce Builder for 7.0.7 be released?
Re: AbleCommerce 7.0.7 released
Our host service tech sent me the following information after getting some feedback and help finally from AbleCommerce which I found out didn't get notified of our Support Case. I finally called Able Friday and someone got right on the problem.
"As it turns out, there were 2 issues.
1. Page Views was not configured to ever purge any records. In other words, every time a user viewed any page of the website, this was logged. I cleared out about a million records.
2. Anonymous users were not configured to purge either meaning any user/browser/internet bot that hit your website became a user. I cleared out about 700,000 records there.
I’ve set both of these to store info for 15 days only. You can adjust this in your cart settings.
After these 2 actions were taken, I purged the sites entire database taking it from 20GB->200Mb, which should be a huge performance boost."
We did have another issue pop up in User Maintenance which was generating an error every minute but I think that has been resolved too. I think every thing is working fine now.

Re: AbleCommerce 7.0.7 released
I have a similar questions now that I've completed the upgrade to 7.0.7.
I am getting numerous OutOfMemory exceptions along with SqlClient timeout errors. They seem occur once or twice every so often but then a couple hundred pile up every hour or two (or so).
I'm wondering if there's something going on with the maintenance scripts but I can't remember what interval those run on anyway.
The only other thing I've noted is that while Sql Server is staying relatively steady, the IIS worker processes suck up almost 2 GB of memory during these error spikes and then after 10 minutes or so, it drops back to 500 MB or so, which seems to be about normal.
Anyway, any help would be great as this does give the store a lockup at fairly regular intervals. Additionally, the store does seem to be running a bit slower than it did on 7.0.6 so maybe I'll get lucky and have two solutions in one.
Update ...
After the last day having very slow performance I rechecked all the changes made between 7.0.6 and 7.0.7 - both the normal files and source code - and the thing that solved it for my install was removing the changed code that checks all associated categories in the /App_Code/PageHelper.cs file. The 7.0.6 code just pulled the first associated category while 7.0.7 loops through all categories and checks pageviews to pull the most used category ... at least that's what I read out of it.
Anyway, I went back to the 7.0.6 code block there and now my site is working as it did before.
I don't utilize any of the category structures in my install so though this update may be useful for some installs and so I would imagine not everyone would just wipe out a change, it wasn't necessary in my case and so provided a quick fix so I could run the rest of the updated 7.0.7 features without this slow performance problem.
