Hey,
We are just about to start using Ablecommerce at our Company. And I was wondering what people are using to monitor Ablecommerce for error and alerts?

There are two places to monitor however neither has an automated way of doing it. Email alerts are woefully needed in AbleCommerce right now.

First is the Admin side Help/Error Log menu option. You'll find key details here.

Second is a low-level log file found in the /App_Data/Logs/ folder. This is far more difficult to read but has some really great base log messages for troubleshooting. In fact the shipment and payment gateway log files are kept in the same folder as well.
