Sales by Affiliate : Invalid Affiliate?

Post by ImmortalLogic » Tue Aug 30, 2011 8:03 am

We have a problem with our Sales by Affiliates Reports that seem to not show the number of orders/conversions. We have a total of 33 conversions in the AdWords interface, and just 14 in the Affiliate Sales Report for August in the store.

I have checked and double-checked each destination link to make sure it is valid and contains the Google affiliate ID, and they do. I can't find any problems within Google AdWords that would cause them to record a higher number of conversions than actually occurred.

I have also noticed that one of our affiliates is named Invalid. We do not believe an actual affiliate uses this this name. Is there a reason this is generated?

Does anyone know why this would occur? Will the latest version of AbleCommerce correct this issue? We are currently using 7.0.0

Given you're on such an old version of AC7, there's bound to be some issues with Affiliates.

Upgrade your version of AC7. You'll see a ton of fixes, improvements etc. It's worth it.

Thanks for your response. How difficult would it be to upgrade to the latest version if we have made many (maybe hundreds) customizations (since we have the source) to our current version 7.0.0?

"Difficult" is a very subjective word :) It all depends on the customizations involved. I would certainly be happy to look at your site code and quote an upgrade for you.

To give you some rough numbers, (for me) it takes 2-3 hours to upgrade a completely unmodified site. A moderately modified site takes anywhere from 10-20 hours. A heavily modified site takes 20+ hours of time.

The heavily modified ones are the toughest to quote because there are so many changes involved. Some changes can be totally incompatible with a future version, so the change has to be redesigned which adds time to the upgrade. Again, just all depends on the customizations and how well they are documented.

Feel free to contact me here in PM or on my website http://www.AbleMods.com/ContactUs.aspx - I'll be happy to give you an estimate to get you to the latest version.
