Hi,
I am referring to the classic method of customers paying using their PayPal accounts, not using any sort of advanced merchant service.
We had this on our site for a while but disabled it. The problem is that the order confirmation page shows up and the customer thinks their order is complete whereas they still have one step left: they have to actually press one more button to make the payment. In addition to this, the order appears in the Manage Orders area of AbleCommerce. In other words, staff have to follow up with customers telling them their orders have not yet been paid for. This is a real pain. Is there any way to make the experience better for both customers and staff? From the perspective of customers, I suppose we could put in a big, bad red message saying something like, "Your order is not complete yet. Please confirm payment first." However, the order should not even appear in Manage Orders section until it's been paid for. After all, credit card orders won't show up if they're not authorized. Why should PayPal account orders be any different?
Thanks,
Moustafa

Moustafa,
Here are a couple of previous posts that I think are talking about the same issue.

Re: PayPal Classic User Experience with AC
I believe in AC 7.0.6 or 7.0.7 they added an 'auto-click' parameter on the receipt page for that PayPal button didn't they?
